Labor Day Family Camp

Friday-Monday each Labor Day Weekend

Cooperstown Bible Camp is excited to announce the return of Labor Day Family Camp! We know that life is often chaotic and the challenges of a calendar filled with Church activities, work, school events, sports, and various practices make having quality family time nearly impossible. When was the last time you prayed or read the Word of God together as a family? When was the last time you were able to rest and reflect on what God is doing in your family? We want to help your family grow spiritually, which is why we have developed Family Camp to encourage spiritual transformation in your family.

Plenty of traditional activities such as family games, high and low ropes, paintball, octoball, human foosball, zip line, Frisbee golf, a playground, and bonfires occur at leisurely and optional times throughout the weekend so you and your family can participate without feeling rushed from one activity to the next. Ultimately we want you to enjoy the beautiful Sheyenne River Valley while you relax, refresh, recharge, refocus on Christ, and experience the life-transforming power of Christ at Cooperstown Bible Camp with your family.

Guest Speaker 2016 was Pastor Dave McMurry

(Photo: Pastor Dave, Kiki, Karis, Autumn, and Compton)

David McMurry is the Senior Pastor at Grace Bible Church in Killeen, TX. He loves his job and focuses his time on a) revealing Jesus from the Scriptures; b) leading the church staff; c) working with the elder board to equip volunteer ministry leaders; d) meeting new people; and e) coaching and encouraging new pastors.

Dave has been married to Autumn for almost 20 years (she likes to say they got married at age 12). He hopes you get a chance to meet her and see how her eyes sparkle. They have three sweet teenagers. Dave & Autumn recently helped found Providence Preparatory School in Belton, TX.  Their family enjoys playing sports, taking walks, cooking, community theater, and all kinds of music. Dave has always enjoyed exercise, but living in an Army town made him realize he is not very consistent.

He also enjoys whistling, eating barbecue, and day-dreaming about all sorts of things.

Dave grew up in Central Texas and served as an intern and as Junior High Youth Pastor at Temple Bible Church from 1991-1993 and 1995-1999. He also volunteered in ministry at Grace Bible Church of College Station, Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Manchester, Mo., and First Evangelical Free Church of St. Louis, Mo.

He received a Master of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Mo., in 2002.  In seminary, Dave grew in his understanding of Gospel-centered theology. He made a lot of Presbyterian friends in St. Louis, and then returned to Temple Bible Church as Children & Family Pastor from 2002-2006. In 2006, Temple Bible Church sent out Dave and other leaders to found Grace Bible Church. Public worship services began in August 2006. Today, the adventure continues...

We were so pleased to have him for the first time to North Dakota to CBC for Family Camp! He blessed us greatly with his bibical teaching and relatable stories from his life.

Guest Musician 2016 was Greg Hager

A five time nominee as the WESTERN ARTIST OF THE YEAR with the Academy of Western Artists, Greg Hager is certainly making connections with the music that he writes and sings.

His musical stories about “life, living, love, cattle, country, and faith” are making strong connections all across the USA. Averaging over 120 concert events per year, Hager is very busy performing at rodeos, fairs, banquets, church events, festivals, and other various venues.

Hager is the “2015 Country and Western Album Of The Year” Recipient by the Rural Roots Music Commission for IN THE VALLEY BELOW. This album was also nominated as the 2015 Western Album of the Year with the Academy of Western Artists. His song COWBOY DREAMING was nominated in 2015 as the Western Song of the Year.

His rural western roots run deep, and so he writes and sings about the life he knows. Raised on a dairy and grain farm, he learned the value of honesty and integrity, and keeping your word no matter what. This is the perspective that shines through in his music. He says those are values common to everyone, and that is why so many identify strongly with his music.

Hager is the epitome of professional both on the stage and off. He is truly entertaining and family friendly. A cowboy gentleman.

Musically, Hager has been influenced by great 12-string guitar pickers and story-tellers like John Denver, Roger Whittaker, Gordon Lightfoot, Paul Overstreet, Clint Black, George Strait, and many others. His style is described along the lines of what Country and Western music used to be before all of the Pop influences…”Easy-going, melodic, and clever.”

Greg Hager looks forward to adventures on the road of life. Life IS a ride!!! A Nashville produced musician, Hager has recorded and released seven CD’s of 100% original music. In fact, he is the only artist in North Dakota history to do so. Four of his albums are “positive” western and country, one Christmas album, and two albums of Country Gospel music.

He is married with three children and lives southwest of Valley City, ND near the family homestead.

Connect with him at www.greghager.com and on Facebook and Twitter.
